Stewardship Seconds

God gives us glorious, perplexing, unbelievably wonderful gifts! Stewards recognize them for what they are—and give God the best they have to offer in return.

United Church

For over 125 years, folks have gathered on Belleville’s “West Hill” to worship God, establish deep and lasting friendships and serve others in the local community, as well as around the world. Today, St. Matthew’s United Church continues this fine tradition of being an exciting and caring Christ-centred and family friendly community of faith and service.

The Christmas Sharing Program provides a confidential registry for families needing special assistance at Christmas time. The program provides food boxes to help meet the extraordinary needs indicated on their application.

St. Matthews purchased 30 food baskets at $85.00 each—total $2,550.00 on your behalf. Your financial support is solicited to help defray the cost of this outreach project.  A donation of any amount from a few dollars to a complete basket or more will be appreciated.

The Creed
We are not alone,
we live in God's world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.
